Must-See Movies Coming Out September 2023

September 2023 is bringing excitement back to the theaters with these must-see movies. With a ton of heavy-hitting actors and actresses gracing our screens, it’s time to get your popcorn ready and feast your eyes on this desirable lineup. Here are some can’t-miss movies coming out in September:

1) The Kill Room

The Kill Room in Theaters September 29th

Ever heard of the series Kill Bill? If you haven’t – you aren’t a movie buff, that’s for sure! Uma Thurman is known for starring in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill. There are two volumes total, all of which were bangers at the box office. So the irony of Thurman starring in yet another violent thriller with the word “kill” in it is not lost on us. This movie, The Kill Room, is unrelated to the Kill Bill series but will feature Thurman back in her element in this comedy crime thriller. The plot hones in on a money-laundering hitman, known as the Bagman, who uses an art gallery as his “front”.

This film intertwines nostalgia with a much-awaited pairing. The Kill Room will be the first movie that features both Uma Thurman and her daughter, Maya Hawke, whom Thurman shares with esteemed actor Ethan Hawke. Despite her parents’ larger than life careers, Maya Hawke is living in no shadow. The actress has been on fire the past couple years, mostly thanks to her notable role in the Netflix series Stranger Things. Alongside the anticipation of seeing the chemistry between this powerhouse mother-daughter duo, audiences get the sweet treat of seeing Thurman reunite with Oscar-winner Samuel L. Jackson on the big screen. The pair collaborated together on Kill Bill Vol. 2 as well as the cult classic, Pulp Fiction. Will this movie bring the same charisma and impact? Only one way to find out.

2) The Equalizer 3

The Equalizer 3 in Theaters September 1st

It’s no secret The Equalizer (2014) was a smashing success. The movie’s sequel, The Equalizer 2 (2018) did not disappoint either. After much anticipation, it’s time to round out the film series this September with The Equalizer 3. Denzel Washington’s role as Robert McCall, an ex-government assassin, brings joy to all moviegoers as he serves up poetic justice throughout each action-riddled scene.

The plot of The Equalizer 3 takes us overseas to Southern Italy where McCall comfortably resides. That comfort is soon breached when he finds out his friends are under the control of local crime bosses. This doesn’t sit right with McCall, of course. So he takes matters into his own hands. One thing The Equalizer movies always delivers on is violence. You can expect this movie to be packed with action, violence, gore, light humor, and a couple of heartfelt moments sprinkled in to round out the film as simply irresistible. For any Denzel or Equalizer fans, this September 2023 movie cannot be missed.

Now, before you get defensive, hear us out: who here actually knows (and follows) LA’s composting law? You know, the reason you have that green trash bin? It’s not just for yard waste if that’s what you’re thinking. As of 2023, Angelenos have been required by law to compost their “green waste”; basically food scraps, yard waste, and the like. Just to clarify, this law applies to the city of Los Angeles. Other municipalities (and the state as a whole) have their own composting laws. In fact, California was the second state (after Vermont) to pass such a law. Now, let’s take a closer look at the city of LA’s green waste law if, for no other reason, than it could save you from a hefty fine!  Ever Heard of Organics LA? The Rancho Palos Verdes Landslides Are a Horror 250,000 Years in the Making

Featured image credit: Dave Proffer We’ve all heard horror stories of homeownership woe. A flooding upstairs bathroom crashing down into a home’s lower level. The spark of electrical wiring burning down a dream. Unseen black mold contaminating everything it touches. But you’ve heard of nothing quite like what’s happening right now in the coastal community of Rancho Palos Verdes. Once a bastion of multi-million dollar seaside properties, heightened landslide activity means Rancho Palos Verdes is threatening to slide away. Southern California Edison (SCE) is cutting power… in some cases, indefinitely. Los Angeles is throwing money at the problem. And Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency. As residents continue to dig in and fight for their beachfront homes, the awkward question remains: when do we declare Rancho Palos Verdes uninhabitable?  Not Exactly a Recent Problem Photo credit: Lizzie McVeigh The volatility of Rancho Palos Verdes’s land i...
